DB making final preparations for Farnborough International Airshow
DB Systems is putting the final touches to an intensive six-month IT & Telephony work programme in preparation for the world famous Farnborough International Airshow.
DB’s technicians have been at the Hampshire site since January preparing the internet and telecommunications systems and services that will be available for all exhibitors at upcoming event (19th – 25th July).
The massive task involves DB supplying 600 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephones and over 400mb of internet bandwidth. These will be serviced via a Cisco controlled network incorporating over 100 network switches, 20km of fibre optics and 10km of cabling.
The project is being overseen by DB’s Internet & Telecommunications Division, which was set up earlier this year after the company expanded into the internet and telecommunications market.
Grahame Jones, Operations Director for Farnborough International
Ltd, said: “DB Systems has worked as a contractor at
Farnborough since the early 1990s and knows the event and the site
very well, already working very closely with many stand builders
and design agencies. This familiarity will not only benefit our
customers, but will also help DB deliver a contract of this size
and importance.”
David Bulley, Managing Director of DB Systems, added:
“We’re well on track to ensure all systems are
installed and operational ready for when exhibitors arrive at the
show. We’ve been a major contractor at Farnborough
International Airshow since 1994 and as a result have developed an
in-depth knowledge about the event and site, ensuring the very best
for our clients.”
In addition, DB is also providing a wide range of AV systems for exhibitors, from single screens to seamless video walls, as well as installing integrated office systems, such as networks, monitors, desktop PCs and teleconferencing facilities, for the majority of large business chalets. These are the areas that multi-national companies use as large-scale, semi-permanent business centres and offices.
