DB Systems Help Cessna Reach New Heights
UK-based Audio Visual specialists, DB Systems (DB)
recently helped Lea International create a unique exhibition
feature at EBACE2008 for their client, Cessna, the manufacturers of
business jets and single engine aircraft.
DB was called in to help with a technically challenging AV design.
The aspect of the design that needed DB’s expertise was an
innovative horizontal, single array of 38 LCD screens on a convex
curved wall to show a montage of video footage and stills that DB
Systems edited from existing footage.
DB’s solution involved sourcing 19” screens with the
narrowest possible bezel to allow for a minimal (7mm) gap between
screens across the curve. This was vital, as both Lea International
& DB wanted to have footage and scrolling text running as
smoothly and seamlessly as possible across all 38 screens.
DB used a Dataton Watchout™ system, which allowed the footage
to run from one end of the screen display to the other, and not
just across pairs of screens. This, coupled with the large seamless
plasma screens and the co-ordinated lighting, really helped with
the overall impact of the exhibit.
The show went extremely well for Cessna and DB’s clients were
thrilled with the results. Lea International said: “DB
Systems were great and helped us from the earliest phases of the
project, right through to the onsite delivery. They even assisted
with some metalwork during the build! They are a great team and it
was a pleasure to work with them all.”
