Getting live feedback at events
Leading agency CH Communications asked us to provide an interactive voting system for their client, Shell Retail, at The Shell Retail Live Conference at Celtic Manor. With almost 250 shell representatives coming together from around the country, they wanted to be able to ask live questions and share feedback from their attendees instantaneously, but they wanted a solution that had enhanced branding opportunities and was slicker and more high-tech than old fashioned hand-held voting keypads.
iPads offer a slick, high-tech alternative to voting keypads
We recommended giving each delegate an iPad and creating a Wi-Fi network that would enable content to be synchronised across all the iPads so, at the touch of a button, the questions could be delivered to all iPads in the room and each attendee would select their answer within the allotted time. We created software that automatically calculated each proportion of answers and instantly displayed the answers graphically both on the iPads themselves and on the main screen, for discussion.
The iPads were not only slicker than traditional voting pads, they were fully brandable and could also have been used to display an event app which might contain programme information or speaker biographies or exhibitor details etc, or just displaying scrolling messages across the day. Networking the iPads means they can literally become receivers for any content or messaging – making them perfect as a vehicle for sponsorship messaging too.
