We love a good excuse to dress up, so in support of Breast Cancer Now, the entire office and warehouse went a little pink, for Wear it Pink Day. From Tu-tus to hats and socks to wigs, anyone visiting that day may have thought we were a little peculiar, but the entire staff entered into the spirit of the day, raising £200 through a cake sale and raffle.

We take great pleasure in raising funds for charitable causes throughout the year, as part of our CSR commitments.  Last year the whole office merrily donned their tacky Christmas Jumpers to raise £90 in support of Save The Children which provides food, medicine and shelter to children who urgently need it.

The Great DB Bake Off provided another fundraising opportunity and looks set to be an annual tradition.  With beautifully iced cupcakes and lighter-than-air Victoria sponges vying for top position, the teams thoroughly enjoyed sampling the produce to crown a winner.  We raised £145 and got to have our cake AND eat it!

In addition to our ad-hoc charitable activities, we provide support to two key charities - an international medical aid supplies charity and a locally based hospice trust :

InterCare

InterCare supplies vital medical equipment, medical supplies and educational material to some130 healthcare units in rural Africa, including hospitals, health centres, infirmaries, prisons, dispensaries, schools, orphanages and centres for the disabled.  Their low overhead and unique approach of recycling healthcare products donated by GPs and surplus medicines from pharmaceutical companies and medical wholesalers means they have a significant impact on the lives of some of the poorest people in six sub-Saharan African countries.  They are entirely funded by voluntary donations and rely on financial support to facilitate distribution of the supplies.

Acorns Childrens Hospice Trust

Acorns was established in 1988 to offer a network of care for life limited and life threatened babies children and young people and their families across the heart of England.  They support almost one thousand families a year, providing tailored nursing care including short breaks and emergency and end of life care at their three hospices located across the Midlands.
