DB Systems, will continue to support African orphans in 2013 after reaffirming its commitment to raise money for Inter Care - Medical Care for Africa.
For the second consecutive year, we are working with the charity, which collects returned patient medicines from GP practices in the UK. After a screening process, suitable medicines are then sent to health units in Africa. The children at the orphanage are among those that benefit from these medicines.
In 2012, our support helped Inter Care to distribute medicines to St Francis Orphanage in Tanzania. This year, our monthly financial donations will be directed to supporting the Friends of Mulanje Orphans, which is made up of 13 orphan centres around Mulanje, in Malawi.
David Bulley, Managing Director of DB Systems, said: “Inter Care does an incredible job of providing medication to Africa and I’m proud to continue to support this charity. Here in the UK we are fortunate because if we fall ill there is medication available to help us recover. Unfortunately, this is not the case for many people in other parts of the world.”
Diane Hardy, General Manager of Inter Care, said: “We are very grateful for the tremendous support from DB Systems in helping us to send consignments of basic medicines to the clinics we support in Africa. Thank you all for your valued and continued support as we could not exist without donations such as yours.”
