Following the incredible success of our involvement at Event Tech Live in 2015 and 2016, DB Systems are returning to this year’s ETL with our biggest space, and most technology laden stand yet.
DB Systems Technical Manager, Tom Rumney, is overseeing the prep, build and running of the stand: “We’ve got a really diverse selection of the products and services available from the three sectors of DB Systems: AV & IT Hire, DBpixelhouse, and DB Event Networks, on show at Event Tech Live 2017. Examples include screens and display technology, touch interactive content, RFiD data capture, Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences, and gamification.”
“We’re delighted to bring our 55” transparent O-LED screens to Event Tech Live, laid out in a 2x1 ratio running fully interactive touch content with a resolution of 3840x1080px, they are an awesome experience to interact with. By far the most impressive element of our presence this year is our huge LED screen. Made up of 90 panels of Unilumin 2.6mm curved LED tiles, configured in the shape of an inverse wave; it’s a five-metre-wide fully immersive visual experience which stretches up, over your head, to run parallel with the ceiling. As well as being one of the most technologically advanced LED walls to ever feature at a UK trade show specifically for events, it’s pretty ground breaking from a content perspective too.”
Head of DBpixelhouse, Ali Reece added: “Rather than simply use a media server to play pre-recorded content on the LED screen, we’re using our Fusion app to run pre-recorded content and integrate it with any of the content on any of the other screens on the stand. Whether it’s simply the sales app on one of the iPads carried by the AV hire team, or VR content from one of the games, we can take over the content and control of the LED wall effortlessly.”
One of the key areas DBpixelhouse have invested heavily in over the past year, both on equipment and in the recruitment of talent, is Virtual and Augmented Reality experiences for events. Ali explained how we have worked this into our stand space at Event Tech Live: “We’ve got two Augmented Reality experiences, one where the user wears a Microsoft HoloLens headset and can visualise and interact with a holographic representation of an aircraft, the second being viewed through an iPad.”
“We also have two immersive Virtual Reality experiences using the HTC Vive headsets. The first being a box throwing game, and the other an opportunity to explore an Airbus A380 from inside our virtual hanger. Running alongside the VR and AR kit will be two games, one which tests the speed of your reactions on a touch reaction game, the other being our ever-popular cow stacking game.”
There will be other examples of DBpixelhouse software and apps around the stand, including RFiD touch point tied in to our brand wallet app, where you can instantly receive product information directly to your inbox; as well as a touchscreen voting app so you can tell us what you think of us!
Away from the stand, DBpixelhouse’s Adam Price, and DB Event Networks’ Paul Nicholls will be speaking at the Event Tech Live Sessions. Adam will be discussing digital interactive attractions at exhibitions at 10:40 on the Expo & Engage stage; Paul will be speaking about creating temporary connectivity for experiential pop-up activations on the Brand and Buzz stage at 13:20.
Event Industry News Editor and Co-founder, Adam Parry said: “I know that DB Systems don’t do a huge amount of exhibit marketing, so it’s a pleasure to see them take Event Tech Live so seriously, and bring a really impressive set-up to the show. Because DB offer so much, it’s great for the attendees of the show to be able to see how all the dots can be joined up when selecting a supplier for event technology. Where DB Systems really shine is it’s not only their expertise with the equipment they hire, but also their knowledge of what’s capable and what’s needed to make it all work together.”
Emphasising the value DB Systems puts on exhibiting at Event Tech Live, Managing Director David Bulley concluded: “There is so much going on in the world of event technology, and ETL is the perfect place for us to exhibit. DBpixelhouse has doubled in size and scope over the last 12 months, but because of client confidentiality, we do an awful lot of work throughout the year that we can’t publicise. Therefore, Event Tech Live is a brilliant opportunity to showcase some of the cutting-edge technology our teams have been working on.”
