DB Systems, the global audio-visual company, has provided the BBC with a holoscreen unit for its brand new show, Eurovision: Your Country Needs You.

The holoscreen, which projects an image so it appears to be floating in the air, features as part of the studio set displaying the show’s logo.

Eurovision: Your Country Needs You is being broadcast each Saturday on BBC 1 and is hosted by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Graham Norton. The five-part series aims to find six acts, who will compete for a place at Eurovision.

The BBC has rented the unit from DB for three months. Oliver Richardson, DB’s Sales Director, commented: “This is a fascinating piece of technology, which always amazes people. DB currently stocks 60” screens but other sizes from 40" - 110" are available. It’s also very versatile. It can be used to display any image and can project that image up to 6m away from the unit.

"Also because the unit has a good range of projection angles (horizontal +/- 28°, vertical +/- 22) it is very easy to install."
