It may have been hosted earlier this summer, but the Meetings Show has recently released information regarding the 2015 event and it seems that it has enjoyed impressive growth figures, the C&IT website reveals.
In fact, compared to 2014 The Meetings Show it has enjoyed a 20% increase in the number of hosted buyers and is now looking for an even bigger event space for its 2016 offering. The show is usually held in the West and Central halls at the Olympia centre, but even these spaces combined – which can hold up to 12,500 people – will not be enough for next year’s expected visitor numbers, it seems.
Next year, the show will be hosted at the Olympia Grand; but this isn’t the first expansion the show has experienced – in fact floor space for the show has gone up by 30% since the first show launched in 2013.
Commenting on this expansion, Steve Knight – the event director for The Meetings Show - said: “The industry has voted with its feet […] the changes for 2016 will ensure the needs of the industry are met.”
Knight also went on to note that The Meetings Show is the only truly international event for the sector, and that it is highly encouraging to see the show going “from strength to strength.” He added that they are receiving support from across the entire industry and, importantly, are witnessing “a significant rise in exhibitors from both the domestic and international sides of the market.”
It is hoped that the extra space for the 2016 show, as well as increased publicity due to the success of this year’s show, will ensure that it goes from strength to strength in the years to come.
